Remedy Energy Services, Inc. major international projects have been the Petrozuata heavy oil project in Venezuela and the Burgos gas project in Mexico.
Petrozuata Project
The Petrozuata project was a joint venture between Conoco and PDVSA, the state owned oil company in Venezuela. Over the life of this project, 100+ wells were drilled and tied in to a 100,000 bbl/day heavy oil upgrader. Remedy's involvement in this project started in late 1996 with one drilling supervisor assigned to the project. The commitment and technical expertise demonstrated by Remedy personnel resulted in an expansion of Remedy's role in the project to a peak of 12 people.
At the height of the project Remedy provided:
- Drilling Supervisors,
- Drilling Field Superintendent. This individual was responsible for activities on all rigs in the field, including those staffed by Conoco Drilling Supervisors.
- Rig Move/Transportation Supervisors for all rig moves and for movement of other major equipment,
- Construction Superintendent for coordination of all lease and road construction as well as drilling waste management,
- Completions Supervisors,
- Production Operations Foremen for training of local personnel in heavy oil production operations.
The drilling phase of this project was completed within the time and cost budget, a budget which was significantly lower than what had been achieved on previous projects.
Pemex Burgos Project
Remedy is currently providing Precision Drilling with Project Management, Engineering Support and Field Supervision on the Pemex Burgos Project and functions as an integral part of the Precision Drilling Team. This project, located in northern Mexico, is a turnkey project for the lease construction, drilling, completion and tie in of approximately 240 gas wells. The success achieved, by Precision and Remedy, on this project has resulted in an extension of the existing contract and an expansion of the contract scope to deeper wells and additional rigs. Well depths on the project range from 1500 m to 3300 m and the project currently has seven drilling rigs operating, in addition to completions, lease construction and facilities operations.
Remedy has provided personnel for a number of other international operations. Our personnel have participated, in various capacities, in projects in Mexico, Norway, Venezuela, Ecuador, Libya, Greenland, USA and Malaysia.
